THERASENSE AND HEALTH HERO NETWORK ANNOUNCE LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR DIABETES DATA MONITORING AND PATIENT MANAGEMENT
Alameda, Calif. and Mountain View, Calif. - November 21, 2002 - TheraSense, Inc. (Nasdaq: THER), a leader in blood glucose monitoring and maker of the popular, virtually pain-free FreeStyle™ blood glucose monitoring system, and Health Hero Network, Inc., the developer of award-winning technology solutions for health monitoring, today announced the signing of a license agreement.
Under the agreement, Health Hero Network has granted to TheraSense a co-exclusive license in the field of diabetes to Health Hero’s extensive patent portfolio relating to medical data monitoring and patient management. In addition, Health Hero has agreed to extend its Health Buddy® product line to include download capabilities compatible with TheraSense’s FreeStyle and FreeStyle Tracker™ glucose monitoring products.
