HEALTH HERO NETWORK ANNOUNCES NEW VERSION OF iCARE DESKTOP PATIENT MANAGEMENT APPLICATION
New Features Designed to Improve Workflow and Enhance User Efficiency and Compliance with HIPAA Regulations
Mountain View, Calif. – August 18, 2003 - Health Hero Network, Inc., has announced the latest release of the Health Hero® iCare Desktop™ application, featuring several additions and enhancements to improve care manager efficiency and workflow while managing patients with chronic illnesses. A task list, review indicators and history, and improvements to the patient profile are included in the update, which was structured around feedback from current users and licensees. Additionally, customers can now easily choose to receive patient results immediately after a survey is completed, once per day, or based on responses. Changes, such as the introduction of audit trails, were also made to increase customers’ ability to comply with HIPAA regulations. The iCare Desktop application update, available now, is free of charge to all current Health Hero Network customers.
The iCare Desktop application provides secure access to a series of features and reports that are designed to risk-stratify patient populations, enabling health professionals to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life while managing the total cost of care. Care providers assign standard or custom disease management content to monitor and assess their patients’ clinical conditions. Patient response data is sent to a secure data center where it is then available for review on the iCare Desktop application.
In the latest release, a task list has been introduced to create an actionable list of patient results. The task list reports medium- and high-risk results as they are received. New review indicators show whether patient responses have been reviewed by the current user or another authorized user, making it easy for busy care providers to pick up reviewing patient results where they left off after an interruption. To assist customers in achieving HIPAA compliance, the review indicators are tied to a new table showing details of each access to patient results.
Care providers now have the opportunity to choose when their patients’ responses are sent to the secure data center and made available for review in the iCare Desktop application. Providers have the ability to select a single daily transfer, upload based upon patient responses, or may specify that results should be forwarded immediately after a patient completes a survey.
“With the introduction of a task list and multiple options for data upload times, the iCare Desktop application provides increased flexibility for care providers managing multiple chronic illness programs,” stated Geoffrey Clapp, CTO/COO of Health Hero Network. “The changes also pave the way for future expansion of the Health Hero® technology platform.”
