Health Hero Network CEO and Chief Intellectual Property Officer to Speak at “Health Care Unbound” Conference in Boston

Mountain View, CA - (MARKETWIRE) – July 7, 2004 – Health Hero Network, Inc. Chief Executive Officer Steve Brown and Chief Intellectual Property Officer Craig Opperman will speak at the Health Care Unbound 2004 Conference & Exhibition on the Convergence of Consumer and Healthcare Technologies. Mr. Brown will be participating in a panel discussion on “Perspectives on RPM/Telehomecare Applications for the Baby Boomer Generation” at 5:15 pm on July 8. Mr. Opperman will be participating in the “How Intellectual Property Can Change the Balance of Competitive Power Among the Makers of Healthcare Unbound Technologies” session at 12:15 pm on July 9.

In a panel discussion entitled “Perspectives on RPM/Telehomecare Applications for the Baby Boomer Generation,” Mr. Brown along with several other panelists will discuss how new remote patient monitoring technologies will enable chronically ill patients and healthcare providers to effectively manage chronic diseases with attention to quality of life and cost of care. The panel will evaluate the current status of remote monitoring, review innovative emerging technologies, explore the CMS demonstration project and discuss the pros and cons of “high touch vs. high tech” solutions in the homecare setting and the impact this will have on aging baby boomers.

In a presentation entitled “How Intellectual Property Can Change the Balance of Competitive Power Among the Makers of Healthcare Unbound Technologies,” Mr. Opperman will use real intellectual property cases to bring to life issues that have a large, but often overlooked, effect on the future of healthcare companies. The case study approach will highlight how today’s seemingly harmless decisions or well-crafted intellectual property strategies can greatly change the valuation of the company, exit strategy options of the founders/financiers, competitive agility, and the ability to attract and repay capital or align with strategic partners.
