Steve Brown is an entrepreneur and active board member in innovative software and Internet businesses. His latest venture is Catch.com, Inc., a mobile applications company he co-founded in October 2008 and serves as CEO. Catch is a personal content management system for smartphones and the web. Catch is the easiest way to capture and organize ideas, notes, voice, images, places, and other information on your smartphone and in the cloud. Catch is developing a suite of tools to help you use the information you capture to improve your productivity and performance.

Steve is the founder and former CEO of Health Hero Network, a pioneer of telehealth and remote patient monitoring, now a division of Robert Bosch GmbH. At Health Hero Network, Steve Brown led the development and commercialization of Health Buddy, a communication system that makes it easier for patients to record and share vital health status information with caregivers. Leading health care organizations including the Veterans Administration and Medicare have chosen Health Buddy to demonstrate the potential to improve chronic care while reducing costs through remote patient monitoring. In 2007, Health Hero Network was acquired by Robert Bosch GmbH, a multinational technology and services company with 260,000 employees worldwide.

In 2008, Steve was an Entrepreneur in Residence at MDV–Mohr Davidow Ventures, pursuing opportunities to apply Internet technologies and services to empower consumers and encourage healthier lifestyles. He also joined the board of Breastfeeding.com, where he helped transform the company into a social network and then manage its acquisition by The Knot (NASDAQ:KNOT), a leading life stage media company. He currently serves on the board of Agile Sports Technologies, a world class online video coaching platform used by leading sports teams.

Steve Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from Stanford University in 1991. In his honors thesis on modeling climate change, he created educational simulations to teach people about the impact of lifestyle and behavior on global warming. He then went on to conduct research funded by a series of grants from the National Institutes of Health on using interactive media to change health behavior. Based on this research, he started and led a business that developed multi-player role-playing video games designed to improve health behavior in children.

Steve Brown speaks at international conferences about innovation and on the potential for the Internet and interactive media to positively change behavior. He has played a leadership role in industry organizations such as the Information Technology Association of America and the eHealth Initiative to help change government policies and open markets for chronic care improvement and remote health services. Steve Brown’s innovations have resulted in over 150 US patents.
